Making the Dream A Reality
Hello, I am Myranda and I am 22 years old. I have been a photographer for about 6 years. I started photography 6 years ago as a way to cope with anxiety, and since you need to think and focus on getting the perfect picture it always took my mind off of everything I was worried about. After I realized just how much photography worked for my anxiety, I took my camera everywhere I could. My first camera was the family camera which was a Canon Power Shot G10, and that is where more of my older photos come from. I was so lucky to have so much support from everyone, teachers, classmates, family during all of this. One of my biggest supporters was my Grandfather, he would take me places to take pictures. I was also given multiple opportunities from my high school to photograph multiple events, like Proms and Homecomings! Believe it or not my teacher was the one to bring up the thought of making a Photography Instagram.
I have gained more and more confidence in my skills in photography. I would say the photography I am strongest at is Nature and Buildings. My absolute favorite thing in nature to take pictures of would either be animals, flowers, or sunsets. I have taken pictures at school band concerts, small baseball events, Proms, and homecomings so I have some experience in Event Photography. Portrait Photography is still a little new for me.
All of this combined has allowed me to grow to the Photographer I am now. At this moment I am learning how to edit photos in photoshop and Lightroom. My goal is to be a travel photographer. Everyday I work on this goal whether it is practicing Photography, looking for local events to photograph, or editing photos I have taken in the past. My biggest dream is to one day photograph Ed Sheeran. This has been a dream of mine since I was in 9th grade.
“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
“There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.”
“Black and white are the colors of photography. They symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is subjected.”
